Got the set in the spring of 2009... now it's the fall of 2010... that magic 18 month mark mentioned so many times above... and we're in photo-negative land. Used to snap back with a gentle tap on the top. This last time no such luck... but after about 10 minutes it corrected itself. Samsung used to be a favorite brand... not happy here.

Another poor soul with an expensive photo negative TV set. My model is just shy of 2 years old. I don't understand why it is an intermittent problem but based on the reading, looks like it will become permanent. We don't even watch a lot of TV and have taken good care of it. I would think Samsung should own up to the defect or lose a lot of customers.

I too am now experiencing the photo/negative issue. Loved it until today. 09/27/2010, the day the phillies clinched the TV developed the white background photo negative look that many complain of. Sad that a TV only lasts two years.

Bought the TV from Amazon in 2008.
